Seeking a Database and Real Estate Administrator


Position:  Database and Real Estate Administrator
Reports to:  Director of Business Development

Avenue 31 is a real estate development firm looking to build a principled and lasting brand with a diversified stream of income from large-scale logistics / industrial properties; transit-centric residential development and intermodal rail infrastructure across Canada.  Avenue 31’s target business streams are aimed at addressing many of the drivers that are shifting the way we organize our cities, specifically the movement of goods and people. We are currently pursuing development opportunities in these 3 property classes in Ottawa and Montreal and their surrounding regions.

Our team is growing, and we are seeking a Database and Real Estate administrator who will work with our team to build a strong database of prospective tenants and the market. We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, team player who possesses strong attention to detail. We’re an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, close-knit team that has big, exciting projects to deliver and we like to have fun doing that.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Amalgamate current data into one central location to be accessed.
  • Collect information and build a database of Ottawa’s industrial real estate market.
  • Verify current data and update accordingly.
  • Input data into a new central database.
  • Conduct research on Geowarehouse, on the internet to verify lease information.
  • Conduct interviews with tenants to stay apprised on current lease data in the marketplace.
  • Conduct research and collect data from both internal database and third-party sources with respect to tenants, building location, lease transactions, dates, rental terms and rates.
  • Maintenance of internal database systems.


Statement of Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Previous experience building and maintaining a current database.
  • Real estate experience or exposure to real estate in some capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, comfortable with cold calling.
  • Experience working with databases, verifying and updating data and information in Excel.
  • Must have in strong understanding and experience with Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
  • Have some understanding with Microsoft 365.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
  • Possesses a strong work ethic and can work independently and with a team.
  • Presents professionally in person and on the phone.
  • Post-Secondary education in Commerce, Finance or Urban Planning.
